 Dear 1328 Brothers, sisters and friends, 

Today, we are proud to share a major win for our Secondary School Supervisors of Students members.

In October 2024, the employer issued a letter stating that there would be no wage increase following the Joint Job Evaluation process. CUPE Local 1328 reviewed the employer’s interpretation and strongly disagreed with their position.

We believed the evaluation and the language surrounding it did support a wage adjustment, and the Local moved forward to challenge the employer through the grievance process.

After pursuing the matter, the union has been successful.

The grievance has been resolved and the SSSS wage rate will be corrected and implemented, with the adjustment retroactive to October 2024.

This means our SSSS members will receive the proper wage going forward as well as retroactive pay to ensure members are made whole.

This is an important reminder that when something does not look right, your union will stand up, challenge the employer, and see the process through. The employer’s initial position was that there would be no increase, but by standing firm and advancing the grievance, the Local secured the outcome our members deserved.

To our Secondary School Supervisors of Students, congratulations. This win recognizes the value of the work you do every day in our schools.

When members speak up, and we stand together, we get results.

More information about the wage implementation and retroactive payments will be shared once the employer provides the final details.
